Well it's about freakin time!

Oh thank the Lord! I haven't been able to get into BlogDrive the past few days because Big-Brother seemed to have butted in and blocked the site for "sex" content. Whatever.

Wow, quick update. I'm completly flunking Western Civ. I have a 55% and have to decide this coming week whether I want to drop the class so it won't go on my transcript and failed, or to stay in and pray like crazy that I pass it. Tough descision.

I just had the weirdest guy IM me on YIM. He came on and said I had a nice pic, I assumed he was talking about the one on my profile. Anyway our little chat before i shut up went as thus:

Him: you have a bf

Me: Nope

Him: why not

Me: Cuz I don't

Him: don't you want one

Me: Nope

Him: have you ever been kissed

Me: Yeah, by my cat (this is where I really started getting ticked off by him)

Him: don't you ever get urges

Me: Yeah, I do. I'm getting the urge to say buh-bye to you.

*The End*

Of all the many guys (and some girls) I've chatted with online, none have been such freaks! I guess I've just been lucky up until now. I'm just glad to know I'm on a safe and secure campus where I don't have to worry about those kind of pervs.

FunkyJedi10: do you remember where i lived when we met?

CamoFlowerPower: hmm, i think you had recently moved from Boston or something, maybe.

FunkyJedi10v: from FL?

CamoFlowerPower: All I remember is a conversation about Boston and writing

FunkyJedi10: never lived in boston b4

CamoFlowerPower: Colorado?

FunkyJedi10: maybe

FunkyJedi10: but if it was boston then i had just finsished tryouts

FunkyJedi10: I was in boston for a week once

CamoFlowerPower: that might have been where Boston came in. But I think you were living in Colorado when we met

FunkyJedi10: maybe

FunkyJedi10: might have been here in NY

FunkyJedi10v: too

CamoFlowerPower: Too long ago to remember, but I'm thinking you had just moved to Colorado

FunkyJedi10: yea

CamoFlowerPower: Well then, I guess you lived in New York, cause I met you December of 2000

CamoFlowerPower: I just remember Colorado for a long time for some reason

FunkyJedi10: ok, yup

FunkyJedi10: I lived there for 2 years

CamoFlowerPower: Boston, New York, what's the difference, they both figure into a conversation about New England[]

CamoFlowerPower: But wow! That's a long time!

FunkyJedi10: yea

FunkyJedi10: lol

CamoFlowerPower: Someday, years from now, we'll be in the old-folks cyber-home trying to remember where all you've lived.

FunkyJedi10: lol

FunkyJedi10: that's funny

CamoFlowerPower: I wonder how we'll use computers in the future.

CamoFlowerPower: Maybe we'll only have to thing to do.....

FunkyJedi10: prob not, we'll have teleportation devices like Star Trek

FunkyJedi10: lol

CamoFlowerPower: LoL

CamoFlowerPower: that reminds me, have I ever asked if you were a Trekkie? I can't remember.

FunkyJedi10: probably, and no i'm not

FunkyJedi10: I'm a "Warrie"

CamoFlowerPower: come again?

FunkyJedi10: "Warrie"

CamoFlowerPower: okay....I'm not understanding

FunkyJedi10: kinda like trekkie, but not

CamoFlowerPower: uh-huh

CamoFlowerPower: oh! slow me! Star Wars, right?

FunkyJedi10: yea []

FunkyJedi10: love star wars!

CamoFlowerPower: gotcha, I've just never heard that before.

FunkyJedi10: i made it up, i think

CamoFlowerPower: Ah, thus we are sworn enemies by birth, Lord Jedi, ignoring our social bounds to be friends.

CamoFlowerPower: that would explain my lack of understanding then.

FunkyJedi10: you a trekkie then?

CamoFlowerPower: Well, yeah! Trekkie thru and thru.

FunkyJedi10: lol

FunkyJedi10: A trekkie I see....hmmmmm

CamoFlowerPower: You've seen my true colors, what thing you of me now, Jedi?

FunkyJedi10: thing?

FunkyJedi10: lol

CamoFlowerPower: Shall I pull my phaser?

CamoFlowerPower: bad spelling

FunkyJedi10: Mesa think yousa cookoo

FunkyJedi10: Mesa Master Jar Jar

CamoFlowerPower: Logically, sir, I would have to comply with your belief.

FunkyJedi10: OW

FunkyJedi10: *Shapeshifts* Mesa...err-hem...I am Master Obi Wan Kenobi

CamoFlowerPower: Yeah, um, well, I've not gotten around to joining a Trek RPG to recieve a rank or anything....I sin against my nation!

FunkyJedi10v: lol

CamoFlowerPower: I'm an X-Man tho! and an FBI agent working on the X-Files, if that helps any. []

FunkyJedi10: Which x-man?

CamoFlowerPower: Oh, original. I wouldn't have felt right playing an actual pre-created X-Man.

FunkyJedi10: ah

CamoFlowerPower: My mutant name is Chameleon, which basically explains my abilities.

FunkyJedi10: True

CamoFlowerPower: I also play one named Hindesight, but everyone ignores her.

FunkyJedi10: oh

CamoFlowerPower: Sweet! It's like a LOTR thing?

FunkyJedi10: yea []

FunkyJedi10: you could sign up under me if ya want....

CamoFlowerPower: Sure, but ya gotta remember I'm only a new convert to LOTR. Still kinda lacking in complete understanding.

CamoFlowerPower: Just tell me what to do.

CamoFlowerPower: well, i have to copy and past it, cuz it won't open in the wal-mart connect window

FunkyJedi10: oh, haha

CamoFlowerPower: yep, not working for the name. It's just got that Join EverWars at the bottom.

School, Work, Life, and Everthing In-Between

Western Civilization Since 1660-
Well, as of Wednesday I currently have an F, but I've been doing better on my last three quizes and think I may have pulled it up to a low D. But only temporarily as the last few quizes were over a book we were reading and now we'll be going back to actual factual history. Yayness

Biblical Survey-
Not really much to say there. I've got a B in the class and not much else happens in there.

Criminal Justice-
Once again, another B class. It's pretty easy, being an introduction class. I'm sure later CJ classes will be much harder.

Composition-
I've no class today because Dr. Wilson is using Fridays right now for student/teacher confrences. I had mine last week and it was short and sweet. I'm gearing up to do a paper on the ideology of Star Trek here in a month or so.

Exploration of the Arts-
Since last week we'd been preparing group presentations. We had to bring two songs, one with words and one instrumental. I provided a suite from my Star Trek CD for the instrumental and my teacher loved it.

Citizenship-
Yesturday I did the Swimming profficency test thing. I hadn't planned on doing it, but everyone kept telling me I should. So, I went. The whole time I kept praying "God, I know I'm not going to pass; just help me get thru it. That's all I wanna do." With every lap around the pool I gulped water, choked, and came very close to giving up. In the end...I passed! Now I don't have to take swimming; I can take bowling or tennis instead! I'm just so happy!!! I was actually kinda ticked off at myself for a bit afterward because I kept thinking how I had planned not to even bother trying, and, had I not, I would have had to take a class I really didn't want to when I could have actually passed.

Work-
Work's fun. The other day as I was leaving Dan told me that the next day I was supposed to come in with a smile and a joke. Of course I forgot, so I had to come up with a joke at the last minute. I told him the funniest one I knew and he just laughed and said "weak". Then I tried another one and he told me to work on it. My two favorite jokes and he dissed 'em both! He told Justin to have me tell him the jokes when he got to work, but I refused to. Dan dissed my jokes, so why should I have Justin diss 'em?

Anyway, this morning Caroline brought in cinnimon rolls. Delice! And they were unbelievably huge! I'm tempted to run down stairs and see if there are any still left.
In other news-

Last night one of the campus clubs showed Lord of the Rings; The Two Towers over at Plaster. I went since I'm a new convert of LOTR. One of their little schemes to try to get more people to come were door-prizes. I didn't care, but I took the ticket anyway. After the movie they called out the numbers and I just so happened to win a free movie rental, a free tan session (gotta find someone to give that to) and two $10-off coupons for Applebee's. I was a bit shocked. Turns out blowing off homework really pays off once in a while

The other night I went to a convo featuring the acapella group Chapter 6. I knew the name, but nothing of them. They turned out to be really good and now I'm looking forward to buying their CD. They're based out of Chicago (whole big story behind it) and have spent the summer down here at Celebration City.

The Wisdoms of Justin Sharp

On solving our country's (and world's) problems:
"Candy. Candy will solve everthing." Bush goes to a meeting with other men in charge of their contries; 'Going to be a while?' Snickers is the answer to the problems in today's world.

On apologies (when I boss yells and wrongly accuses you):
"An apology, candy, and a car. Candy makes up for everything....[no one] will ever yell at me again because [they'll] have to get me another car."

Everyone should know someone like Justin. He has a solution for every problem, a song for every day, and a word to make you smile. Someday I'm going to miss working with this man. He makes my Tuesdays and Thursdays happy, something to look forward to at work.

Today is marvelous. It's fall. The sky is cloudy. And on my way in it was beginning to rain. Could there be a more perfect day? I didn't have Citizenship today, so I've been free to enjoy today since 1:30. After Exploration of the Arts I rode my bike down to the computer lab. On my way back I was enjoying the dreary day. In my room, after Beth left, I looked out the window and had this sudden urge to go outside. I suddenly felt confined and just could not spend another moment of this day inside without spending some time just sitting out under the cloudy sky and reading. I picked up my bag, grabbed my book and headed out. I got on my bike and rode back down to the CCLounge and sat out on the pattio. Every once in a while someone would pass and give me an odd look. Afterall, I was sitting outside in 60 degree weather, listening to my CD player, and reading. I didn't care. I love to be outside in the fall, no matter how cold. Being inside in the fall almost hurts. It's not easily done for me. I would still be out on that pattio reading if it hadn't started raining.

   Ah, Fall.....

I suppose that is all for today.

Slow, but Chugging Along

The first time I ever read the word "idiot", I couldn't figure out what on earth an "I-dot" was. When I first started reading I hated it. My first grade teacher caught me many a-time looking at picture books during reading time. I never wanted to read. It repulsed me!

In the second grade my mom and teacher forced me to start reading. I still hated it, but I had to do it to make them happy. Read and they'll get off my back.

During the third grade I started reading more. By the fourth grade my mom and teacher were trying to convince me not to read so much. I couldn't figure it out. First they force me to read, then they try to force me not to read. Make up your freakin' minds!

Ever since, tho, I have developed a passion for the written word. A couple years back I lived, ate, breathed, and slept on writing. Writing, either poetry or story, got me thru the first two years of high-school. Sad as it was, I began to write more than read and I started missing my beloved books. So, I finally resigned myself that for every story I start I must read a book (and yes, comic books counted). Eventually my love of writing waxed and I returned to the written word as a source of comfort.

I still write, just not as often and it takes me longer to get things written. But when I do write I do so excellently. Not to say I am a great writer who can put a picture into words and make it sound beautiful, whatever it may be. But I'm good at wording things

I once had a friend asked me what I liked to do. I told him that writing was my passion, my dream, and my calling. I've yet to tell him that is no more. Now my passion is murder, not the doing of, but the solving of. I specifically focus on Jack-the-Ripper. My love of reading translates over into that, tho. I've read many books on good ol' Jacky. At times, I feel a connection to him. I understand him, but I am repulsed by him. His work fascinates me, but, had I the ability, I would have prevented it so long ago.

My hobbies, as ever I write them:
Reading, writing, drawing, and all things Jack-the-Ripper.

Today is brought to you by the #38!

To test out of Citizenship with sit-ups, one needs to do 39 sit-ups. To do this, one must sit up 39 times. Remember waaaaaay back during the first week of school (a month ago) I attempted to do 39 sit-ups, sitting up 39 times, so that I might test out of Citizenship? Remember waaaaaaay back during that first week I beat myself up because I only did 35 out of 39 and really hated myself for that?

I now hate myself even more. Today we were given a second chance to do 39 sit-ups to test out. Today I did, prepare yourself, 38 sit-ups. Today, once again, I did not test out of Citizenship by doing 39 sit-ups. Today, rather than being 4 sit-ups away from testing out of Citizenship, I came down to being 1 sit-up away from doing 39 sit-ups and testing out of Citizenship.

But, there is hope! We have another opportunity, in about a month, to attempt to test out again with another 39 sit-ups. As I see it, I went from being 4 sit-ups away to testing out of Citizenship to being 1 sit-up away from testing out of Citizenship. This can only mean that during my next round of 39 sit-ups, attempting to test out of Citizenship, I will be able to do 3 more than necessary, coming to 42 sit-ups and testing out of Citizenship. That is my theory. I believe that in one month I will be able to test out of Citizenship by doing 39 (possibly more) sit-ups.

   Thank you very much!

Kelsey

Look, Ma, I'm a Side-Show Freak on the Guided Tour!

This morning was a bit odd. For one, Sara and I got along really well. Wow, a day when I didn't feel like slapping her  We talked, we laughed, and she even killed a spider for me  That thang was huge and nasty looking! I swear I could see its eyes! **shudder** While we were working on the last bathroom a tour was coming thru. It was an odd experiance to be in the way of a tour-group. But that's not all! Then, when we got back down stairs I had to wait for another tour-group to move to put the cart up. After that, trying to clean became useless. It was like Invasion of the Guided-Tour Groups! They were everywhere. We finally figured out that it just might have something to do with today being Senior Day. But, we got everything done in an hour.

I certainly can't say that for the motel. 12 cleans. 3 freshens. Dozens of stained sheets! Not to mention that something down-stairs was flooding and the water had been turned off, so the bathrooms couldn't be cleaned (but I'm perfectly okay with that). So, I just spent the last two hours changing sheets, folding towles, dusting, vacuuming, and replentishing soap and tissue paper. And that's only in three rooms. Out of 12 freshens, I only got to three rooms in two hours. We got down to 15 minutes and Caroline kicked into high gear telling us to hurry up and do the 3 freshens. I knocked on one door, no answer. I put the key in, an old guy opens the door. I had to straighten the bed with people in the room! Then Justin came in and did the other bed while I got the other little stuff, and Paige vacuumed. 12 o'clock, we finally left, where as usually we would have left 15 minutes earlier. And still, all the bathrooms and vacuuming is not all done. But hey, at leat I've got about 15 minutes over-time!

Well, I was supposed to get a couple errands done, but I was too tired when I came in, and now I only have enough time to eat my pop-corn and skidaddle to class. Yay, Exploration of the Arts and Citizenship. I'm jumping with joy.

Kelsey

Jesus Pebbles!

God rocks! Last night, after puting away my clothes and straightening up a bit, I opened my assignment notebook to see what I needed to finish before bed. I did my quick Composition response then went on to reading my Criminal Justice notes. After a bit I thought I was forgeting something. I opened my Western Civilization syllabus and discovered I was to have a quize this morning. Panick ensued. It was already past 11 and I usually prefer to go to bed at 10:30 when I have to get up at 5:30 the next morning. I had previously decided to make it to bed by 11:30, but that didn't look like it would happen. So, I continued to go over my CJ and Bib. Surv. notes a bit past 11:30. There was no way I was going to get my West. Civ. workbook filled out to study by 12 and I was tired, so I just went to bed, hoping that by some chance the quiz might be over things I remembered from previous years and classes.

This morning, during work, all I thought about was my quiz which I knew I was going to flunk. When I went back to the office to clock out, Caroline wanted me to pick a work week and Dan was buging me about my "fine" not sounding fine. I finally clocked out at 10-till and hurried to my room, and then to class. (For some odd reason, tho my watch time has not changed, Dr. Howell seems to be starting earlier, so I'm going to have to find a way to get there earlier.) Just as I was entering Dr. Howell was rattleing off something about the quiz and Wednseday. Just before getting to the notes he re-capped (tho, I didn't hear it all) and said that today's quiz would be post-poned until Wednesday. Thus, I spent a whole night and whole morning in a panick of failing another quiz. But, I now have time to fill out my workbook tonight and review tomorrow night. Yay!

I just got out of Biblical Survey, a whopping 30 minutes early! I'm pretty sure I did well on that test. The funny thing about Bible test, no matter who the teacher may be, they all seem to have the same format. It wasn't much different from Mr. Hayes (better spelling, tho) or Mr. Morelock's (MUCH better grammar) tests. I answered everything except for a couple list items which I totally blanked out on, tho I had just looked at the list right before puting my notes away. But, all in all, I did pretty well and have no doubt that I passed it.

   One down, one to go.

I'm hungary and want to spend a while reviewing my CJ notes (this test I'm not too sure on).

Kelsey

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--Robert Frost
